Frequently asked questions
Supplies, scheduling, pricing, insurance, and what makes post-project cleaning different from a regular clean.
Every question we get asked
Grouped into general cleaning and the post-project work we specialize in. If yours is not here, call and we will answer it directly.
General cleaning
Yes. We arrive with everything needed for the job: cleaning products, cloths, vacuums, and the equipment a particular project calls for. You do not need to supply or store anything.
If you would rather we use a specific product in your home, tell us when you book and we will work with it.
That is entirely your call. Plenty of customers are home, and plenty give us access and go about their day. Either works.
We do ask that you are reachable near the end so we can walk the finished rooms with you, since that walkthrough is how every job ends. If you cannot be there, we will send photos and follow up.
A standard cleaning is the regular upkeep pass: dusting, floors, kitchen wipe-down, bathrooms sanitized, trash out, rooms tidied.
A deep cleaning goes after what a routine pass never reaches: baseboards, door frames, behind and beneath furniture, fixtures, buildup in corners. It takes longer and costs more, and it is the right choice for a first visit, a seasonal reset, or a home that has not had a thorough clean in a while.
By the project and the scope of work, not by a room count or an hourly guess. A post-construction clean, a post-remediation detail, a residential deep clean, and a move-out are genuinely different jobs with different labor behind them.
You tell us the space and what happened in it, and we come back with a clear quote for that specific job before anyone starts.
Yes. Nest Cleaning Co. carries insurance on every job, so letting us into your home does not put you at risk.
Dusting throughout, vacuuming and mopping all accessible floors, a kitchen wipe-down covering counters, appliance exteriors, sink and backsplash, bathroom sanitizing for the toilet, tub or shower, sink, counters and mirrors, trash removal with fresh liners, and general tidying.
Add-ons priced separately are inside the refrigerator, inside the oven, and interior windows. Ask for any of them when you request a quote. Cabinet interiors are part of a deep clean rather than an add-on.
We ask for 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. A cancellation inside that window carries a $25 flat fee, because the slot is usually too late to fill.
Ongoing clients get a one-time waiver before the fee applies, so a single slip-up will not cost you anything. Things come up, and we would rather you tell us early than not at all. Reach out and we will do what we can.
Denver is our largest service area, and we regularly work throughout the Front Range: Lakewood, Commerce City, Highlands Ranch, Parker, Aurora, Arvada, Westminster, Glendale, Englewood, Centennial, and Green Valley Ranch among them.
We are not limited to that list. For the right project we travel to other parts of Colorado. Just ask.
If something in the agreed scope was not done to standard, tell us within 24 hours of the clean and we come back to re-clean it at no charge, whether it is the whole job or a single corner you noticed after we left.
The guarantee is a re-clean of the areas in question, not a refund, and it covers the work in the scope we agreed before starting.
Post-construction & post-remediation
It is the detailed clean that happens after a construction, renovation, or remediation crew has finished and packed up. The project may be technically complete, but the space is still covered in fine dust and residue, which is what stands between a finished job and a home you can actually move back into.
Completely different trades. Remediation companies remove mold and handle containment; construction crews build, demolish, and repair. Both are licensed specialists doing work we do not do.
Nest Cleaning Co. is a cleaning company. We do not perform mold testing, mold removal, remediation, construction, or demolition. We come in after those crews finish and clean up what the process left behind.
Construction and demolition dust is far finer than household dust, and it travels. It settles inside cabinets, in window tracks, on the tops of doors and trim, in vents, and on every horizontal surface in rooms nowhere near the actual work.
A routine cleaning pass moves it around rather than removing it, which is why homeowners often find the same film back a day later. This work needs a different sequence, different tools, and far more time.
Yes. We use HEPA-filtered vacuums for post-construction and post-remediation work, because a standard vacuum recirculates the finest particles back into the room rather than capturing them.
We also work top to bottom and save floors for last, so dust that is disturbed during the job is collected rather than resettled on surfaces already finished.
As soon as the work area is genuinely finished and clear of tools, materials, and crew. Cleaning before the last dusty task is done means paying for the same clean twice.
We can often accommodate same-day and next-day requests, especially for post-remediation cleanups. Tell us your timeline when you request a quote and we will work to it.
Everything the project touched, and the rooms the dust reached, which is usually more than people expect. Surfaces, window sills and tracks, glass, vents and registers, light fixtures, door frames and the tops of doors, baseboards and trim, cabinet interiors and shelving, then floors last.
We work from a written scope so you know exactly which rooms and surfaces are covered before we start.
Often, yes. General contractors, renovation crews, and remediation companies bring us in at the end of a project, and we coordinate scheduling with them so we arrive once their work is genuinely complete.
Homeowners hire us directly just as often. Either way, the scope and the walkthrough are agreed with whoever is paying.
By scope, not by room count or a flat hourly rate. We ask what work was done, how large the affected area is, how long the crew was on site, and what condition the space is in now.
That produces a written scope and a quote for that specific project, agreed before we start.
That determination is called clearance, and it is not something we perform. Confirming a home is safe to reoccupy after mold remediation typically means air quality testing, spore counts, or a post-remediation verification, and offering that requires licensing we do not hold and do not claim to have. That call belongs to your remediation company or a qualified third-party indoor environmental professional, never to us.
We come in once that clearance has been given. From there, our job is the cleaning: we work from the condition of the space and your instructions to get it back to a home you can live in again.
In most cases, we bill you directly for the cleaning, the same way we would for any other job. Some policies do cover it when it is included as part of the remediation claim: the remediation company adds the cleaning as a line item on their invoice to your insurer, and it gets confirmed and paid through that claim rather than billed to you separately.
Whether that applies to your situation depends on your specific policy, and it is your remediation company, not us, who needs to confirm coverage directly with their insurer or adjuster. We are glad to talk through payment on a case-by-case basis, and we will provide a written, itemized invoice either way so you or your contractor have what is needed for the claim.
